Produced for Shinjuku Kabukicho Shunga Exhibition WA — Small Stories of Love: The World of Mameban Shunga,
this project selects 50 works from the 380-piece collection of Uragami Sokyudo and reconfigures them as trading cards.
Referencing the historical practice of carrying shunga as protective charms,
each work is reformatted into a portable card size.
Shunga is reconsidered here not only as an object of viewing,
but as something to be carried close to the body.
The project also draws on shunga’s role as “warai-e” — images shared across generations,
where humor functions as a medium of connection.
Each card stands alone, while allowing for exchange and accumulation.
10 of the 50 cards feature a holographic finish.
Depending on the angle of light, a heart shape appears in reflection.
『新宿歌舞伎町春画展WA ― 小さな愛の物語―豆判春画の世界―』に際し、浦上蒼穹堂収蔵作品380点の中から50点を選出し、トレーディングカードとして再構成したプロダクト。
春画がかつて護符として懐中に忍ばれ、身体に近接する存在であった背景を踏まえ、持ち運び可能なカードサイズへと再編集。
鑑賞物であると同時に携行物でもあった春画の在り方を、現代的に再解釈している。
また、老若男女に共有され、笑いを媒介として機能してきた「笑い絵」としての側面にも着目。
一枚で完結しながら、交換や共有によって広がるフォーマットとして設計した。
全50種中10種はホログラム仕様。
光の入射角によりハート形に反射する加工を施している。
