Exhibition Catalogue Cards Set of 100

Produced for Shinjuku Kabukicho Shunga Exhibition WA — Hokusai & Eisen: A Comparison of Elegance in Full Bloom, this project reconfigures selected works from the Uragami Sokyudo Collection into a series of trading cards.

Drawing from a broader archive, 50 works have been carefully chosen and reformatted into a portable card size. This approach references the historical practice of carrying shunga as protective charms, bringing them into close proximity with the body. In doing so, the project reinterprets shunga not only as objects for viewing, but as items meant to be carried and kept.

It also reflects on shunga’s role as warai-e—images shared across generations, where humor serves as a medium of connection. Each card functions as a complete work in itself, while also inviting exchange and accumulation within a broader set.

Among the 50 cards, 10 feature a holographic finish, designed to reveal a heart shape depending on the angle of light.

「葛飾北斎・渓斎英泉 艶くらべ ー歌舞伎町花盛りー　新宿歌舞伎町春画展WA」に際し、浦上蒼穹堂収蔵作品の中から100点を選出し、トレーディングカードとして再構成したプロダクト。

春画がかつて護符として懐中に忍ばれ、身体に近接する存在であった背景を踏まえ、持ち運び可能なカードサイズへと再編集。 鑑賞物であると同時に携行物でもあった春画の在り方を、現代的に再解釈している。

また、老若男女に共有され、笑いを媒介として機能してきた「笑い絵」としての側面にも着目。

一枚で完結しながら、交換や共有によって広がるフォーマットとして設計した。 全50種中10種はホログラム仕様。
